Our menu draws inspiration from various Italian regions and traditions. It features a very special egg pasta, classic Roman sauces with non-egg pastas, plus a few Italian classics. As our venue name suggests, one of our signatures is our take on the iconic sugo all’ Amatriciana.
Our philosophy is “simple food that makes you happy!”
About our pasta
We import our dried pasta directly from the towns of Amatrice and Campofilone, north of Rome. We do this to honour the rich traditions and ancient receipes of the region. Why dried pasta rather than fresh? It provides the ideal al dente texture and is the traditional choice for Roman pastas.
While travelling many years ago, Dave (one of the owners) met a pasta-making family in Campofilone. He learned about the ancient recipe, local produce, pristine mountain water, and the traditional production methods that cannot be replicated in Australia. Maccheroncini di Campofilone (angel hair spaghetti) is the only egg pasta to receive a geographical certification, in recognition of the 600 year old recipe and strict production methods that produces the best egg pasta in the world.
